Artist Bio
Aliyah Ronda, a Digital Media & Design student at the University of Connecticut, Storrs, is passionate about web and interactive design. Aliyah is from Meriden, a small city in Connecticut. Having grown up in a deeply connected and diverse community, she has a tremendous love for supporting local businesses. To pursue her creative passions, she applied to the Digital Media and Design major during her freshman year, switching from Animal Science. Aliyah has always created art and edited videos but discovered her love for web design during her college years. Outside of digital design, she enjoys anything that involves coordinating: interior design, upcycling clothing, and more. She is always trying to find new ways to create. Her inspirations are culture, environment, and God. She consistently tries to design applications and websites that solve any real-world problems she’s faced with. She believes that the connection with community is what drives successful businesses and people.
Aliyah also has passions in business, specifically analytics, which is what she is minoring in. She has developed experience in SQL, HTML, CSS, C+, and JavaScript during her years at UConn. She is excited to work with different businesses and people and to contribute her skills in design and promotion.

Artist Statement
Honeycomb is a user-centered platform designed to assist consignment shops in making smarter, data-driven selling and buying decisions. The project addresses a common challenge within small resale businesses: the lack of accessibility to tools that track shifts in trends, customer demand, and inventory performance in a clear and user-friendly way. By combining intuition and analytics, Honeycomb can transform everyday resale issues into strategic opportunities for growth. The platform aims to promote decisions that are better for the customer, the company, the community, and the environment.
I chose to create Honeycomb because I understand the importance of second-hand culture and experienced the consequences of relying strictly on intuition and training when making selling decisions. As someone deeply interested in UX/UI design and data-driven systems, I wanted to challenge myself to design a platform that balances clarity, usability, and strategy. Consignment shops heavily rely on sustainability and community, yet many operate without the technological support required to cater to their customers. Through this project, I explored how design can improve this gap. Honeycomb represents my desire to create work that is not only visually compelling, but also impactful. I hope this project reveals my commitment to building tools that bring communities together.
