The Guided Path is an animated short that follows the journey of a young girl Bea, as she leaves home to embark on an adventure. Bea’s fears manifest as a monster that follows her, but the creature is kept at bay once she stumbles upon a cat who is ready to lead her to her destination. When they both reach the end of their journey, Bea has to work to overcome her fears and save her new companion. I hope anyone going through life trying to find themselves will resonate with this project. I myself have had doubts and hardships with my work, and worrying what my future will look like after graduation. Having a strong support system has helped me immensely throughout my college experience, and I don’t think I would be where I am today without having my friends and family to support my goals and ambitions. This vector based animation is put into a 3D space, filled with depth and colorful textures. Sometimes we work towards goals that may not turn out how we might have hoped, but we can find love and support that guides us through even the darkest moments.
