Mobile App
Link to iDriver

iDriver is a mobile app for a service that provides users with a professional driver to drive them to their destination in their own car. Currently, the service lacks a digital presence and requires customers to call in to schedule a driver. Originally, the owner of the service approached me to design a user interface for his drivers. The ultimate goal was to create an app for both drivers and users with a minimalist aesthetic and easy to navigate user interface.
To better understand the value of the service and to address any concerns, I conducted a competitor analysis and in-person interviews with drivers and the business owner. Additionally, I created a brief survey using Google Forms to better understand the users of the service. Using Miro, I created user flows, personas, and visualized user pains and gains. I then used Adobe Illustrator, XD, and Figma to create wireframes and prototypes. The iDriver app is currently in the development stage, and I will be using HTML, JavaScript, a Vue3 framework, and Firebase for the authentication and database.
The iDriver app will increase exposure to the service, provide opportunities for growth, and enable healthy competition in this space for entrepreneurs. It will also provide a digital solution that empowers both the drivers and users of the service.

Artist Bio

Andy Eric Gardner is a Digital Media and Design student at the University of Connecticut, focusing on Web/Interactive Media Design. He is currently a UX/UI & Web Designer with the DX Group, which provides the UConn research community with access to high quality app development, web design, UX/UI design, and other technology innovation solutions.
Born and raised in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Gardner has always been curious, creative and a little rebellious. His first introduction to interactive programming was on a Timex Sinclair 1000, copying code in Basic to create simple video games to play. At an early age, Gardner realized his passion for seeking out solutions to problems. It took some time but he realized that his self expression and creativity would fuel his curiosity to generate unique solutions.
During his time at UConn, Gardner has worked with Agency X, DX Group, CoAction Lab and Beachball to help create solutions for various organizations and businesses. He plans to continue providing innovative solutions after graduation.
