This is a story that encapsulates the value of friendship and what it means to not take your relationships for granted. True friendships require both giving and receiving; a lot of time and effort goes into maintaining a strong relationship and out of it comes someone you can depend on. Family plays a prominent role as we grow older but unlike family, friends are chosen. They can also be just as important when it comes to maturing as a human being and learning about yourself. Although relationships can encounter obstacles, they can prevail if we can forgive one another for our little failings. When you are young, relationships are pure and have no ulterior motives. Arguments become more serious and personal as we get older, but I want this story to remind my audience that things can be more simple than they seem, and just like these two boys realize, our bonds are more important than anything.
