Link to Lune and the Light

Lune and the Light is my way of combining my two loves: the fantastical world of role-playing games and their limitless worldbuilding potential, and the more scientific but no less fantastical knowledge of our universe. Ever since I dreamt up the story of Lune roughly two and a half years ago, I have been revisiting and refining the Sun, Moon, and Star kingdoms. In the process, I have done extensive research on astronomy and worldbuilding, using the former to improve my skills in the latter. This particular story, regarding Lord Astraeus and Tenebris, serves as an introduction to a larger story yet to be told, and this project has inspired me to fully believe it is a story worth telling. For the titular character Lune, an incredible adventure is about to unfold; for Stellian, his world will grow larger than his father ever allowed it to be. I will continue to expand this world well after I graduate, as I shape these two unlikely allies into adventurers with the power to save the universe.

Artist Bio

Joy Rollins will soon earn her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Media Design from the University of Connecticut, with a concentration in Motion Design & Animation. She spends her free time consuming nearly every piece of animated media she can get her hands on, immersing herself in the rich history of the fantastical worlds other people have created. Her personal favorites include Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Dragon Prince, and RWBY; they all inspire her to pursue storytelling through her own animations. She has a passion for art in all forms; before she made it to UConn, she was a self-taught digital illustrator who regularly practiced a wide range of art styles, and she would frequently post her work on social media. She is endlessly grateful for the opportunity to learn how to turn her digital illustrations into 2D animated media, akin to the media she loves to consume.
