For this project I wanted to tackle a genre I knew nothing about. I decided to take on the horror comedy genre as a fun challenge for myself. I didn’t want to focus on any serious topics because with such a long time frame for one project I didn’t want to lose interest. I’ve only seen about one or two horror films before I began researching films for the project and I quickly realized how silly scary films can feel at times. My film ended up as a buddy horror comedy and is meant to not be taken too seriously, I hope whoever watches cracks at least one smile.

Artist Bio

Tiana Rawlings is currently a senior at the University of Connecticut completing her BFA in Digital Media and Design with a concentration in Film and Video Production. Tiana is originally from Manchester, CT. She got her start with producing news stories and anchoring for her high school broadcast journalism class, and has expanded that love of storytelling to short films. With two short films already under her belt, she hopes to be able to bring more relatable stories and characters to life that will resonate with audiences. Her past short film Drop Out was selected to be included in festivals such as Film Junction Film Festival and First Time Filmmaker Sessions at Pinewood Studios. Her work has aired on Fox Student News, and she is currently producing and editing video content for Gengras Motors. She is very excited to pursue film work professionally once she graduates.
