Say Something is a short experimental documentary where Katie Agustina Aranda explores her relationship with her father, Panfilo Aranda—a Paraguayan immigrant, workaholic, and amateur videographer. Using material that he shot throughout the last forty years, the story follows his journey from passionate filmmaker to distant father. With archival footage and interviews, the film is about family, immigration, and a strained father-daughter relationship.
Agustina Aranda is a Paraguayan-American multimedia artist and UConn Stamford student where she studies Digital Media and Design with a concentration in Film/Video. Whether its through film, graphic design, fashion, or illustration, she loves creating outlandish art and making elements of life a little more abstract.
Aranda comes from a long line of artists who immigrated to the U.S. for a better life. Her culture and identity is a huge influence on her art, and working with diverse and underrepresented people is important to her.
