To complete my BFA in Digital Media and Design with a concentration in Web and Interactive Media Design at the University of Connecticut, I designed a mobile app prototype, Jade Wedding Journal, advised by Ting Zhou. Jade Wedding Journal was designed to create an exciting new experience for guests and hosts of weddings. With features such as RSVP, table requests, vendor suggestions, a shared feed, and more this app is aimed at helping both the guests and hosts of weddings communicate in an efficient and easy way. Jade Wedding Journal is different from other wedding planning apps because it is not focused on one type of audience, and is inclusive of guests, giving them more opportunities to become a part of the wedding. I believe this app could positively impact how people plan their weddings and eliminate most of the stress of communication between guests and hosts.

Artist Bio

Giana Adragna, a student working towards her BFA in Digital Media and Design with a concentration in Web/Interactive Media Design, is expected to graduate from the University of Connecticut in the Spring of 2023. As a child, Giana discovered her love for creative mediums such as photography, videography, and more. When she entered her junior year of high school, she discovered her passion for visual design. She finds that through human-centered design, she can use her creativity to design a service or experience to help her targeted users. Giana’s family has always been very supportive of her expressing her desire for creativity and inspire her to make every effort possible to do her best, causing her to be where she is today. For her senior BFA project, Giana created Jade Wedding Journal, advised by Ting Zhou, as a way to express her growth as a designer and show appreciation to her family who has supported her through every step of the way.
