Website/Interactive Postcard

In lieu of a senior project, I completed multiple internships during my junior and senior year of college. I worked with UConn Environmental Health and Safety on promoting HuskySMS, the UConn management system for safety training. My contributions to this project ranged from creating educational tutorial videos on safety training for Students, PI's, and Facility Workers, creating interactive postcards that users can scan via QR code and clickable VR 'buttons' will appear, and creating a website that holds all information on HuskySMS.

Additionally, I worked at UConn Information Technology Services, where I designed and developed multiple UConn WordPress websites. The large-scale website development I was a part of was the PRLACC (Puerto Rican/Latin American Cultural Center) website redesign, where within one page I created a Historical Timeline that was based off a mural to commemorate their 50th anniversary. These two experiences will prove to be strong stepping stones into my future career working with clients and also as a web designer/developer.

Artist Bio

Meira Tompkins is a Web/Interactive Media Design major graduating in 2022 with a BFA in Digital Media & Design. Because of her interests in web design and development, graphic design, and UX research she concentrates in Web/Interactive Media Design and has completed Internships at UConn Information Technology Services, UConn Environmental Health and Safety, and has created numerous websites inside and outside the sphere of UConn. She anticipates working as a freelance web developer/designer and traveling to Europe in the coming months.
