Elijah Carini is a senior at the University of Connecticut, majoring in Digital Media and Design with a concentration in Digital Film/Video Production and minoring in Entrepreneurship. Hailing from the small town of Bolton, Connecticut, Elijah’s passion for filmmaking sparked when he was young and created a YouTube channel that he grew to over 130,000 subscribers. This early success motivated Elijah to explore the worlds of both filmmaking and entrepreneurship more deeply. His interest in creative pursuits was heavily influenced by his father, who encouraged Elijah to work harder to pursue his artistic passions. In his free time, Elijah works on video production, website and graphic design, marketing, and his own entrepreneurial projects. His ultimate dream is to one day run his own business full-time, where he can fully apply and showcase his talents.

Artist Statement

Run Wild follows the journey of Kevin Brudz, who I have been best friends with since high school. His clothing brand Run Wild goes beyond just fashion – it raises funding and awareness for the cause of endangered animals. Growing up with Kevin, I always knew about his passion for wildlife, so when he started Run Wild, it made perfect sense. This project is not just about showcasing his brand – it is about his story and the struggles of being a solo entrepreneur. This film will show the entire journey of his brand, the ups and the downs; how everything came to be. My approach to this film is to capture interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, and reenactments of his journey. I want to showcase the challenge of building a brand with a purpose. I hope this film inspires others to realize that even as just one person, you can create something that can change the world without being intimidated by a few mistakes. I want to inspire everyone to start their own brands and follow their dreams, no matter how wild or unattainable they may seem.
