Shania Chacon is a digital designer and creative technologist with a deep passion for clean, minimalistic design. Currently pursuing her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Media and Design, she specializes in crafting user-centric web and interactive media experiences that seamlessly blend simplicity with functionality. With an eye for detail and a strong belief that great design should be both elegant and intuitive, Shania’s work reflects a balance between aesthetics and usability. She draws inspiration from contemporary digital tools and timeless design principles, ensuring her creations are not only visually appealing but also highly effective. Beyond her digital pursuits, Shania has a deep love for exploration and dreams of traveling the world one day. She is also an avid collector, with a passion for vintage items such as retro gaming consoles, classic video games, designer bags, and digital cameras. Her appreciation for both the past and the future fuels her creativity, making her a versatile and forward-thinking designer.
Artist Statement
“Oasis XR” leverages Extended Reality (XR) technology to transform mental health support, making the process more engaging and accessible. This project introduces immersive experiences that make mindfulness practices more interactive and captivating, hopefully enhancing user participation and well-being. For this project, I want to push beyond my comfort zone, moving past traditional interface design and explore into the realm of XR design. XR offers users a unique chance to bridge that gap by transporting users into calming environments, helping them feel connected and focused during mindfulness activities. This project represents my vision for how XR can transform mental health care for the better, providing an experience that will not only support their well-being but make the process enjoyable and engaging.
