Artist Bio<\/h4><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Matt Lockett is a multimedia creative based out of Hamden, Connecticut with a passion for writing, interactive storytelling, and music. They are a game master for table-top role-playing games and have developed several game systems of their own. They are also the creator of the web novel, \u201cUntimely\u201d and post their music under the alias, lockett. Their goal is to create game systems for players, new or experienced to enjoy. They have participated in local game jams, hosted a Dungeons & Dragons podcast, and also began development of a MMORPG.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matt is inspired by games like Outer Wilds and Baldur’s Gate 3. They hope to take these games interactive storytelling to the next level in an MMO format. Their music takes on a similar theme with a feeling of wonder and hope through their folk and hyperpop fusion. Matt\u2019s writing is heavily influenced by writers such as Tamsyn Muir and Tasha Suri, as well as interactive media writers; Brennan Lee Mulligan and Aabria Iyengar. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Artist Statement<\/h4><\/div>\n\n\n\n

My game, Pantheon, strives to be a fun and simple introduction to tabletop role-playing games. I originally created the idea for this game over the summer for my family to play because I wanted to share this medium for storytelling with them. It was a huge success, such a success that I decided to make it my Senior project. Those looks of pure joy and enthusiasm on my family\u2019s faces became my motivation to make this project.    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Table-top roleplaying games and roleplaying video games are essential parts of my queerness, transness, and identity. Without these spaces and forms of expression, I do not know how I would have lived. These spaces gave me a break to be my true self free from judgement and criticism. I am going to make games where people like me can be themselves and Pantheon is just the start.   
I wanted to create a game that inspires players to not give up on their dreams. People may play this game when they are going through a rough patch in their life, and I hope this will motivate them to pursue their great ideas and turn them into a reality. The contrast between losing one\u2019s creative spark or memories and still finding strength through hope is very meaningful to me; and is the heart of what I want this game to express. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
