Having grown up&nbsp;in a&nbsp;deeply connected and diverse&nbsp;community, she has a tremendous love&nbsp;for supporting local businesses.&nbsp;To pursue her creative passions,&nbsp;she&nbsp;applied to the Digital Media and Design major&nbsp;during&nbsp;her&nbsp;freshman&nbsp;year, switching from Animal Science.&nbsp;Aliyah has always created art and edited&nbsp;videos but&nbsp;discovered her love for web design during her college years.&nbsp;Outside of digital design, she enjoys anything that involves coordinating: interior design, upcycling clothing, and more.&nbsp;She is always trying to find new ways to create. Her inspirations are culture,&nbsp;environment,&nbsp;and&nbsp;God. She consistently tries to&nbsp;design applications and websites that solve any real-world problems&nbsp;she\u2019s&nbsp;faced with. She believes that the connection with&nbsp;community is what&nbsp;drives successful businesses and people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-top:0;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:0;margin-left:0\">Aliyah&nbsp;also&nbsp;has passions in business, specifically analytics, which is what she is minoring in. She has&nbsp;developed experience in SQL, HTML, CSS, C+, and JavaScript during her years at UConn.&nbsp;She is excited to work with different businesses and people and to contribute her skills in design and promotion.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div data-aos= \"fade-left\" data-aos-duration=\"400\" data-aos-delay=\"0\" data-aos-easing=\"ease\" data-aos-once=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-uagb-container uagb-block-787c2033\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-image uagb-block-33d869bf wp-block-uagb-image--layout-default wp-block-uagb-image--effect-static wp-block-uagb-image--align-none\"><figure class=\"wp-block-uagb-image__figure\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bfashow.dmd.uconn.edu\/2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/03\/Aliyah-Ronda-Headshot-1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"uag-image-1541\" width=\"800\" height=\"800\" title=\"Aliyah Ronda Headshot\" loading=\"lazy\" role=\"img\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-container wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio uagb-block-f6f9c3e4 alignfull uagb-is-root-container\"><div class=\"uagb-container-inner-blocks-wrap\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-899e302d\"><h4 class=\"uagb-heading-text\">Artist Statement<\/h4><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0;padding-top:0;padding-right:0;padding-bottom:0;padding-left:0\"><em>Honeycomb<\/em>&nbsp;is a user-centered platform designed to assist consignment shops in&nbsp;making&nbsp;smarter, data-driven selling&nbsp;and buying&nbsp;decisions.&nbsp;The project addresses a common challenge within small resale businesses: the lack of&nbsp;accessibility&nbsp;to tools that track shifts in trends, customer demand, and inventory performance in a clear and&nbsp;user-friendly&nbsp;way.&nbsp;By combining intuition and analytics, Honeycomb can transform everyday resale&nbsp;issues&nbsp;into&nbsp;strategic&nbsp;opportunities&nbsp;for growth. The platform aims to promote decisions that are better for the customer, the company,&nbsp;the community, and the&nbsp;environment.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0\">I chose to create Honeycomb because I understand the importance of second-hand&nbsp;culture and&nbsp;experienced&nbsp;the consequences of relying strictly on intuition and training when making selling decisions. As someone deeply interested in UX\/UI design and data-driven systems, I wanted to challenge myself to design a platform that balances clarity,&nbsp;usability, and strategy. Consignment shops heavily rely on&nbsp;sustainability&nbsp;and community, yet many&nbsp;operate&nbsp;without the technological support&nbsp;required&nbsp;to cater to their customers. Through this project, I explored how design can improve this gap. Honeycomb&nbsp;represents&nbsp;my desire to create work that is not only visually compelling, but also impactful.
