Artist Bio

Adam Houle is a Digital Media and Design student at the University of Connecticut. He has a strong understanding of Game Design and UI/UX Design. Excelling in gameplay, and level design, while placing among the Top 100 in multiple Game Jam competitions with over 500 entries. Currently, he is gaining professional experience as a UI/UX Designer, creating a new version of an app targeted for Gen-Z users through gamification. His passion lies in designing intuitive and exhilarating experiences that immerse users in worlds where their problems become irrelevant.

Adam’s philosophy for being in the gaming industry is centered on making others’ lives better. His dream is to create games with the same kind of impact that a select few had on him. Even if it helps just one person, that will motivate him to keep creating. To me, success is determined by multiple factors: having a stable income, creating projects that sell well, and most importantly leaving a lasting impact on those who play or use my work.

Artist Statement

Memory loss has been a constant looming curse in my family, and the experience of losing someone because of it can arguably be worse than a curse. I have unfortunately lost a family member to Alzheimer’s. You almost feel stuck when you feel that down, but that does not mean you should forget the positive aspects in your life. When I change the environment I am in, it tends to clear my head. Ultimately, when all hope is lost and you feel that down, there is always a way up.

I wanted to create a game that inspires players to not give up on their dreams. People may play this game when they are going through a rough patch in their life, and I hope this will motivate them to pursue their great ideas and turn them into a reality. The contrast between losing one’s creative spark or memories and still finding strength through hope is very meaningful to me; and is the heart of what I want this game to express.
