Artist Statement
My journey as a game developer began with the pure, unadulterated joy of mowing down zombies in Left 4 Dead 2. That initial experience was a revelation; it was my first understanding of how interactive systems could generate such profound and simple happiness in a curious mind. This foundational joy became the core of my creative philosophy.
That initial spark of curiosity evolved into a deeper engagement with the game’s community. I began installing mods and playing on customized maps, marveling at how player creativity could endlessly make fixed gameplay never boring. This participatory culture, built on a shared passion rather than profit, inspired me to contribute my own voice. I am now creating a custom map for Left 4 Dead 2, not only as a tribute to the game that shaped me but as my first step into a larger world of development.
The process is a significant challenge, mastering new tools and design principles. Yet, I am driven by the example of countless creators who persevere for the simple reward of enriching a community. Their dedication clarifies my own purpose. For me, being a game developer is an extension of that first feeling of joy I experienced as a player. It is about translating a spark of an idea into an experience that can create that same sense of wonder and excitement for others. My goal is to craft worlds that offer players a space for discovery, challenge, and ultimately, pure joy.
