Artist Bio

Kaitlyn Madigan is a senior at the University of Connecticut, pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Media and Design with a concentration in 3D Animation. As a multidisciplinary visual artist, she specializes in both 3D and 2D animation, blending technical expertise with artistic vision to create imaginative and impactful work. Her projects often explore themes of identity, creativity, and convey abstract ideas of emotions within her animations. Her experience spans from being the Entertainment Director at UConn Student Television, collaborating with professors to make educational videos with animated graphics, an internship creating 3D models and animations of medical devices, and working within the production department at CBS Sports.

Artist Statement

What Lingers is 3D animated short that visualizes the cyclical nature of intrusive thoughts and emotional compartmentalization in which they manifest as a plague within an environment. What Lingers focuses on the creation of organic models through simulations. The scene is enhanced by particles systems and procedural textures, with renders highlighting key displays of organic models.
