Artist Statement
“Who Am I” is an animated interpretation of my poem of the same name, exploring the fluid nature of identity. Through motion design, 2D animation, and hand-drawn transitions, I visually depict the evolving aspects of self—brother, son, friend—demonstrating that identity is never singular. Using ink-bleed effects and a minimalist black-and-white character, I highlight how identity shifts and adapts over time. Each line of the poem unfolds into a distinct animated sequence, revealing another layer of self-perception. My goal is to engage viewers in a reflective journey, prompting them to question their own identities. By fusing traditional artistic elements with modern animation, “Who Am I” offers a striking visual meditation on the complexity of human existence.
