Artist Statement
Growing up surrounded by nature in my hometown of Sparta, New Jersey, I’ve always eagerly anticipated each spring as the bears emerge from hibernation and the cubs climb the trees in my backyard. This deep connection to the environment has shaped my work, inspiring me to capture the familiarity of home through my animation. I’m excited to share my creations, which reflect not only my personal experiences but also my belief in the power of storytelling to evoke emotion and help us connect to our surroundings. By blending my artistic vision with my love for the wilderness, I aim to transport viewers into a world that emphasizes the warmth of home and nostalgia—offering a contrast to the fast-paced, often detached nature of digital interactions. My art invites others to reorient and reconnect with the natural world, fostering deeper emotional connections and encouraging us to slow down and reflect on the things that bring us comfort and joy.
